NEIL POULTON
Neil Poulton (born 1963) is a Scottish designer who lives in Paris, France. He specialises in the design of deceptively simple-looking mass-produced objects and has won numerous international awards. Poulton is best known for his technology and lighting projects and is often associated with brands like LaCie, Artemide and Atelier Sedap. Time magazine has included Poulton in the list of the most influential designers in the world. In 2007, the Center Georges Pompidou museum in Paris purchased six objects designed by Poulton for its permanent contemporary collection while Poulton's first major solo exhibition took place in the Glyptotheque (Zagreb) museum in 2013. In 2018 the Scopas lamp by Neil Poulton for Artemide was inaugurated in the first Scottish permanent gallery of V&A Dundee, in Scotland. In 2019 Neil Poulton was in the list of 100 designers who were able to bring French design all over the world, making it unique and prestigious.
